Form and Injuries
For every GB Maxi manager, keeping your athletes in peak condition is paramount. This section is designed to help you understand how to avoid injuries and improve your athletes' fitness, ensuring they perform at their best during every meeting.
Form is a very misleading title, Fitness would be a more realistic title for it
To build form up athletes need to compete once a week in their speciality, sprint, middle distance, long distance etc etc.
Whilst these figures are not proven they are more or less right
Each event on
low uses ~0.6 form
normal 1.0 to 1.1 form
high 1.6 to 1.8 form
Each training update form recovers at around 0.9 to 1.2 per athlete
Low form will result in sub standard performances and worse still injuries
Injured athletes can't compete or train and in reality just cost money from your budget without adding to it
We all have different ways of playing the game, but surely we all want to avoid injuries
Competing once a week on low will see form improve
Competing once a week on normal will see form stay the same or rise slightly or fall (but not too much of a change)
Competing once a week on high will see form decrease
Try to have each athlete only compete once a week in their speciality apart from weeks when:
there are regional qualifiers
there are national finals
there are major finals
The older the athlete the harder it is to increase form
Again it is up to the team manager but going high is best used once or twice a season at a time when you require a bit more from an athlete
Athletes on low are far less likely to get injured however low their form is.
If you have 0 injuries there is no need to employ a Doctor.
