Welcome to GB Maxi help and information

Welcome to the GB Maxi help and information page! Here, you'll find everything you need to know about playing our online athletics game, whether you're a newcomer or a seasoned competitor. We've compiled guidance, tips, and answers to common questions to help you get the most out of your game experience.

How to get started with a new club

This is where our journey begins. Most new players struggle at the start with having logged on to wondering why they haven't been assigned to a League. These initial steps listed below should help smooth that process, but remember if there are any issues please feel free to contact us or one of the mentors.

Register

Register to play Maxithlon - It may take up to a few days for your registration to be processed by game staff

Create Club and Username

Create club name and user name

Pick your athletes

Pick your athletes from the list of available athletes from the pool provided for both male and female - It is highly recommended to select younger ones (if possible aged 20 or below), who have a good Care value (as near to 20 as possible) plus the two core skills required for their event. Obviously you only have the choice of 48 athletes and what specialities to assign them, but remember to take into account the physique of the athletes for the different specialities.

Relays

Create 4 relay teams, 4x100m and 4x400m, both male and female. It is advisable to use sprinters or your fastest combined athletes for the 4x100, and perhaps use Middle Distance/Long Distance runners for your 4x400m squads (as an example)

Set Standard Line Up

Set the standard lineup and tick the 'Use the lineup in the National League' box.

Early on in the game have the standard lineup all set to low to help build up the form (fitness) of the athletes.

Youth Athletes

The Youth Team is made up of athletes who are native to your club and have a maximum age of 17.

Athletes in the Youth Team train slightly quicker than those in the main team.

Pull youth athletes (Youth Team/Look for young athletes)

you can produce up to 4 youth athletes each week (help article coming soon)

You can also send any of your initial 48 athletes to the Youth Squad providing that they have not been placed in a Main Team relay and have not competed for the senior team at an event.

The Youth League is a good place to get to grips with competing in the game.
