Catherine Treschl
1500m Runner
Catherine Treschl holds a special place in Caledonian history as the athlete responsible for one of the club’s earliest Hall of Fame record performances. Arriving from LC Netzzeus, she became a cornerstone of the club’s middle-distance programme and established the female 1500 Metres club record of 4:16.23 in S40. Over the course of her career she amassed an outstanding medal collection of 20 gold, 8 silver and 8 bronze medals, including success at national, continental and masters level. A five-time national champion, Treschl combined speed and endurance to excel over both 800 and 1500 metres, while also competing successfully in the steeplechase. Her record stood as a benchmark for many seasons and helped establish Caledonian’s reputation in middle-distance events. Through sustained excellence, longevity and championship success, she became one of the defining athletes of the club’s early years.
Scott Kyle
100m Sprinter
Scott Kyle brought genuine sprinting quality to Caledonian during one of the club’s most competitive periods. Signed from Iron Road Runners in S42, he quickly justified that investment by establishing the male 100 Metres club record of 11.10 in S44. Kyle’s achievements were built around consistency at national level, where he collected 6 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal in Great Britain championship competition. His performances regularly earned qualification for continental championships, Olympic competition and masters events, demonstrating a career spent competing against elite opposition. Although primarily a 100-metre specialist, he also recorded a useful 200-metre best of 25.63. Throughout nine seasons with Caledonian, Kyle provided reliability, experience and championship pedigree. His record-breaking sprinting performances and national-level success ensured his place among the most important athletes in club history.
Ubaldo Croce
Long Jump specialist
Ubaldo Croce became one of Caledonian’s most accomplished field-event athletes after joining the club from C.A. Abra in S41. Over fourteen seasons in club colours he developed into a consistent international-standard jumper and established the male Long Jump club record of 7.87 metres in S46. Croce competed with distinction at Olympic Games, World Championships and Continental Championships, frequently finishing among Europe’s leading jumpers. His medal collection of 2 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals reflected success across national and international competition, while a World Junior bronze medal and Continental Junior silver demonstrated his talent from an early age. In addition to his long jump achievements, he also competed in the triple jump, recording a personal best of 11.40 metres. His longevity, consistency and international competitiveness make him a deserving Caledonian Hall of Fame inductee.
Mariluz Solsona
Triple Jump specialist
Mariluz Solsona brought versatility and international experience to Caledonian and became one of the club’s most respected field-event competitors. Joining in S43, she spent seventeen seasons representing the club and secured her Hall of Fame place by establishing the female Triple Jump club record of 12.18 metres in S47. Solsona’s athletic range extended far beyond her specialist event, with competitive performances in pole vault, long jump, high jump and hurdles highlighting her all-round ability. She collected 2 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals during her career and regularly represented Spain at national, continental and masters championships. Particularly impressive was her longevity, remaining competitive well into masters competition and achieving numerous top-ten continental finishes. Her record-breaking performance, combined with years of loyal service and versatility across multiple disciplines, make her one of Caledonian’s most valued Hall of Fame members.
Alisha Harris
Long Jump specialist
Alisha Harris stands among the finest home-grown athletes ever produced by Caledonian. Beginning her competitive career with the club and remaining throughout her athletic journey, she represented Caledonian for more than twenty seasons and established the female Long Jump club record of 5.98 metres in S51. Harris collected 5 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals, competing successfully at regional, national and international level. Her achievements included a Continental U21 silver medal and repeated appearances at Great Britain national championships, where she regularly challenged the country’s leading jumpers. Beyond the long jump, she also competed in high jump and triple jump, demonstrating valuable versatility. Harris embodied the club’s commitment to athlete development, progressing from promising youngster to record holder and international competitor. Her loyalty, success and longevity ensure a permanent place in Caledonian Hall of Fame history.
Roberto Palombaro
200m Sprinter
Roberto Palombaro brought international-class sprinting to Caledonian and quickly became one of the club’s standout performers. Joining from CUS Atlantica in S42, he spent almost twenty seasons with the club and established the male 200 Metres club record of 21.75 in S52. Palombaro’s career included notable success at junior level, winning both World U21 and Continental U21 championship gold medals before progressing to senior competition. He also added a national championship title and a continental masters silver medal to a career medal collection of 3 gold and 1 silver. His performances regularly placed him among the strongest Italian sprinters of his generation. Combining raw speed, championship success and remarkable longevity, Palombaro became a key figure in Caledonian’s sprint programme and one of the most accomplished athletes ever to represent the club.
William Regis
Triple Jump specialist
William Regis may not have accumulated a vast medal collection, but his impact on Caledonian is undeniable. Joining the club in S46, he spent nine productive seasons in club colours and established the male Triple Jump club record of 14.46 metres in S52. His achievements included a national championship gold medal and silver medal, while his performances consistently ranked among the strongest in Great Britain. Regis was more than a specialist triple jumper; he also competed successfully in pole vault, high jump and long jump, demonstrating considerable athletic versatility. His personal best of 14.46 metres remains one of the most significant field-event performances in Caledonian history. Though his competitive career was shorter than some of his Hall of Fame peers, his record-breaking achievement and national-level success ensured a lasting contribution to the club’s legacy.
Marnin Sol Van
Sprint Hurdler
Marnin Sol Van brought championship quality hurdling to Caledonian during a highly successful period for the club. After arriving from Ass. Atl. Reggio C. in S51, he quickly became one of the squad’s leading performers and established the male 110 Metres Hurdles club record of 16.67 in S56. His medal collection of 5 gold, 6 silver and 1 bronze reflected remarkable consistency at national level, while silver medals at both Continental Championships and Continental U21 Championships highlighted his international credentials. Sol Van regularly represented New Zealand in major championships and achieved qualification for Olympic and World Championship competition. His combination of speed, technical ability and competitive determination made him one of the club’s most reliable athletes. Through record-breaking performances and championship success, he secured a deserved place in the Caledonian Hall of Fame.
Rocío Ares
400m runner
Rocío Ares became one of Caledonian’s finest female sprinters and a key contributor to the club’s success during the latter stages of her career. Joining in S53, she spent ten seasons with the club and established the female 400 Metres club record of 53.19 in S57. Ares collected 2 gold and 3 silver medals while competing successfully at regional, national and masters level. Her performances regularly earned qualification for World Championships, Continental Championships and masters competition, where she consistently achieved strong results. Possessing speed over both one and two laps, she recorded personal bests of 12.52 for 100 metres and 25.44 for 200 metres, underlining her versatility. Her record-breaking quarter-mile performance remains one of the defining achievements in Caledonian sprinting history and secures her place among the club’s Hall of Fame athletes.
Reuben Deuchar
Hammer thrower
Reuben Deuchar stands among the greatest throwers ever to represent Caledonian. A product of the club’s own development system, he progressed from promising youngster to international-class competitor and established the male Hammer Throw club record of 68.26 metres in S60. His achievements extended beyond the hammer, with personal bests of 65.45 metres in the javelin and 19.27 metres in the shot put highlighting exceptional all-round throwing ability. Deuchar amassed 9 gold and 9 silver medals during his career, including a World Junior Championship gold medal and multiple national championship victories. Even after leaving Caledonian, he continued competing successfully at masters level, demonstrating remarkable longevity. His combination of record-breaking performances, championship success and home-grown roots make him one of the most important athletes in Caledonian history.
Peppino D'Ovidio
800m specialist
Peppino D'Ovidio brought quality middle-distance running to Caledonian and became one of the club’s most reliable championship performers. Arriving in S53, he spent sixteen seasons with the club and established the male 800 Metres club record of 1:53.69 in S61. Although his medal collection consisted of 3 silver and 4 bronze medals rather than championship titles, D'Ovidio consistently competed against elite opposition at World Championships, Continental Championships and Olympic-level competition. His ability to remain competitive at the highest level reflected both determination and professionalism. Strong performances over 1500 metres and steeplechase further demonstrated his versatility as an endurance athlete. His club record performance, combined with years of service and regular appearances on major championship stages, ensured that D'Ovidio became an important part of Caledonian’s athletic heritage.
Krystyna Małkowska
Marathon runner
Krystyna Małkowska completes the Caledonian Hall of Fame class as one of the finest endurance athletes ever to wear the club colours. Joining in S53, she spent fourteen seasons representing Caledonian and established the female Marathon club record of 2h:26:37.48 in S61. That performance, achieved during World Championship competition, remains one of the club’s most prestigious record achievements. Małkowska earned a national championship gold medal and a World Junior Championship silver medal during her career, while regularly competing at world, continental and national level. Equally effective over shorter endurance distances, she recorded strong personal bests at both 5000 and 10000 metres. Her combination of championship success, international competition and record-breaking marathon excellence made her a vital figure in Caledonian’s distance-running tradition and a worthy Hall of Fame inductee.
