GB Individual Regional Championships – Season 106

The GB Individual Regional Championships on Wednesday 20th May delivered one of the strongest nights of Season 106 so far, with standout performances across the track, field and endurance disciplines. From dominant club displays to elite individual efforts, the championships produced quality in every corner of the programme.
Bumble Bees AC Lead the Club Charge
No club made a bigger statement than Bumble Bees AC, whose athletes consistently appeared at the sharp end of the results across multiple disciplines. Their all-round strength was particularly evident in the combined events, where Nicola Higgins produced the performance of the meeting with a superb 6,056-point Heptathlon victory.
The club also claimed major wins through:
- Spencer Easton in the men’s 1500m (4:05.55)
- Demi Boyle in the women’s 3000m steeplechase (15:02.19)
- Tilly McWilliam in the women’s 20km walk (1:51:39.04)
- Ellie Menzies in the women’s pentathlon (4,374 points)
Bumble Bees AC combined endurance, technical quality and depth better than any other club on the day and firmly established themselves as the headline team of the championships.
Leeds United AC Dominate the Sprint Circuit
If Bumble Bees owned the overall narrative, Leeds United AC controlled the sprint programme.
Amy Bedford delivered one of the highest-scoring track performances of the evening, storming to victory in the women’s 400m in 56.96 for 1,075 points. Arran McDonald backed that up in the men’s 400m with an excellent 52.64 clocking worth 1,068 points.
The club also secured victories through:
- Heather Nesbit Wilson in the women’s 200m (24.82)
- Leon Jeffrey in the men’s 800m (2:04.64)
- Mohammad Bannon in the men’s 10km walk (53:32.33)
Leeds United AC’s versatility across sprints, middle distance and walks made them one of the most complete squads in attendance.
Quemerford Harriers Shine in Distance Events
Quemerford Harriers enjoyed a superb evening in the endurance disciplines.
Ryan Redmond’s 4,327-point pentathlon victory underlined the club’s all-round strength, while Jason Flavell produced a commanding win in the men’s 3000m steeplechase in 12:22.92.
The women’s squad was equally impressive:
- Mia McLeish won the women’s 5000m in 17:14.72
- Georgia Milne captured the women’s 800m title in 2:19.58
- Sarah Brennan took the women’s 100m hurdles in 18.44
- Tyler Iwelumo dominated the men’s 50km walk in 4:15:52.85
With victories spread across track, hurdles and endurance events, Quemerford Harriers emerged as one of the deepest clubs in the championships.
Weymouth Bay Sharks Continue Their Rise
Weymouth Bay Sharks once again showed why they are becoming one of the most feared clubs in Season 106 competition.
The Sharks produced elite performances across several disciplines:
- Oliver Maskrey won the men’s 20km walk in 1:41:38.46
- Kiera McKinna claimed the women’s 400m hurdles in 1:07.98
- Madeleine Davidson secured victory in the women’s 50km walk in 4:39:09.10 for Iron Road Runners
- Ellen Agyepong won the women’s 1500m in 4:37.34
- Max Shewan completed a distance double in the men’s 5000m and 10000m
- Kara Sanderson stormed to victory in the women’s 100m in 12.75
- Jason Dixon won the men’s 110m hurdles in 17.91
The breadth of Weymouth Bay Sharks’ success – from sprint hurdles to ultra-distance walks – demonstrated extraordinary range.
Hacksaws Strike Gold in the Men’s 200m
One of the biggest crowd-pleasing performances came from Hacksaws athlete David Livingstone, whose 23.75 victory in the men’s 200m earned a massive 1,024 points.
The club also posted strong combined events results through Zak McLachlan and Reuben Donnelly, confirming that Hacksaws continue to build serious depth across the board.
Pineapple AC Deliver Quality at Both Ends of the Programme
Pineapple AC enjoyed success in both sprinting and endurance.
Daniel Liddell won the men’s 100m in exactly 12 seconds, while Samuel Boyle produced one of the evening’s best technical performances to take the men’s 400m hurdles in 1:01.92.
Carly Forbes added another title in the women’s 10km walk with a strong 59:01.89 performance.
Standout Individual Performances
Several athletes produced championship-level displays worthy of special mention:
Nicola Higgins (Bumble Bees AC)
The clear performance of the meeting. Her 6,056-point Heptathlon was comfortably the highest score recorded across all disciplines and underlined her status as one of the elite all-round athletes of Season 106.
Amy Bedford (Leeds United AC)
Her women’s 400m victory combined speed and quality, producing one of the highest scoring pure track performances of the championships.

Max Shewan (Weymouth Bay Sharks)
Distance doubles are always difficult, but Shewan managed to capture both the men’s 5000m and 10000m titles in style.

Reading Palm Faces 4x100m Relay (female)
Reading Palm Faces 4x100m relay finished in a blistering 52.12 seconds to secure 1st place in the South East of England.
Regional Strength on Display
The championships also highlighted the growing balance of power across the regions.
South Wales continued to produce elite sprint talent, East Scotland was heavily represented in middle distance events, while Yorkshire and the Humber again showed impressive depth across endurance and technical disciplines.
Clubs from East London, Scotland and Northern Ireland also featured prominently throughout the results, reinforcing the increasingly national spread of talent in Season 106 competition.
A Championship Packed with Quality
With elite combined event scores, fast sprinting, strong middle-distance performances and remarkable endurance displays, the GB Individual Regional Championships delivered one of the most entertaining and competitive meetings of the season.
The balance between established powerhouse clubs and rising challengers made for a compelling evening, and if these performances are any indication, the remainder of Season 106 promises to be one of the strongest yet.
