200m Sprinter
David Livingstone has established himself as a dominant force in the GB 200m, consistently delivering elite performances across his 6 seasons whilst at Hacksaws Club.
A standout 200m specialist, David’s career is defined by his incredible record at the Individual National Championships (Great Britain), where he secured three prestigious 200m titles (Seasons 102, 104, and 105) and second places in the interim.
His versatility shines through with Regional titles in the 100m, 200m, and 400m, highlighting his range.
With a lifetime best of 22.42s and a peak of 1150 points, David’s consistency in the National League and his appearance at the World Championships cement his legacy as one of the club’s most decorated sprinters. And he's not finished yet. Watch this space...
10,000m Runner
Kyle McDougall is a prolific long-distance runner whose career is defined by extraordinary versatility and championship success.
His greatest achievement came in early 2025 with an Olympic Gold in the 10000m (29:20.80), followed by a World Championship title later that year.
A dominant force for Great Britain, McDougall has secured numerous National and Continental titles across the 5000m, 10000m, and Marathon. His range is exceptional, boasting a 10000m personal best of 29:18.18 and a world-class Marathon time of 2:03:30.
Whether competing in the Champions Cup or the National League of Britain, he has remained a consistent podium finisher and high-point scorer across many seasons.
And this includes latterly winning double Golds at the Euro Continental Masters, following a very close second place in the World Masters the previous season. Although he's now in his Golden years, his longevity has been incredible. And he's not quite finished yet! Even if he never wins another Gold, Kyle's got nothing left to prove and his reputation speaks for itself.
All round Jump specialist
Rory Matthews' career was defined by exceptional versatility across jumping and vaulting disciplines. His highest competitive peak occurred in Season 99, where he secured a prestigious Individual National Championship title in the Triple Jump with a career-best mark of 15.64m. He further cemented his legacy during the historic Season 97, achieving a remarkable double gold at the GB Individual National Championships.
An elite all-rounder, Rory also excelled in the high jump, recording a personal best of 1.93m. He achieved multiple podium finishes as well over many seasons, and toward the latter end of his career he transitioned to the pole vault, reaching a peak clearance of 5.13m.
He gracefully hung up his spikes at the age of 38, and is currently enjoying his well earned retirement in Hawaii.
But his consistent regional dominance and regular medalling at all the Individual National Championships makes him a multi-disciplinary Hacksaws legend.
High Jump
Introducing the first of the Hacksaws overseas entries into the HOF, Diane Magne.
She was a Big Game athlete, specialising in the High Jump. Her ability to clear the 2.00m barrier with ease at both the World Championships and the Olympics cements her as one of Hacksaws' most decorated performers. Even as she transitioned into "Master" categories in Season 84, she remained a serial winner, providing the club with guaranteed points across both High Jump and Long Jump.
Her career peak arrived in Season 81, where she secured the World Championship title with a massive 2.06m clearance. She followed this with an Olympic Bronze (2.00m) in Season 83 and a World Master gold in Season 84.A top end point scorer, Diane also excelled in Long Jump (PB 6.07m) as well as sprinting effectively, clocking 12.02s (100m) and 24.55s (200m).Whether winning Global, French National titles or leading the British Club circuit, Diane’s consistency in high pressure finals made her a legendary club figure, prior to her well earned retirement.
She's now a successful DJ in Benidorm, switching seamlessly from athletics clubs to nightclubs!
Pentathlon
Louie McNally demonstrated elite consistency across multi-discipline events, particularly in the Pentathlon and Decathlon. His career reached its competitive peak in Season 83, securing a personal best score of 4781 points during an impressive 6th-place finish at the Olympic Games.
A dominant force domestically, McNally captured multiple Individual National Championship titles for Hacksaws, including a Decathlon/Pentathlon double in Season 83.
On the world stage, he achieved a superb 4th place at the Season 81 World Championships and later claimed gold at the World Master Championships in Season 86, cementing his status as a world-class competitor.
McNally also held the British Record with his 4781 PB, and was a formidable presence in international combined event athletics.
Triple Jump
Eloise Brewster has raised her stature since joining the Hacksaws, being an elite athlete, particularly dominant in the Triple Jump. Her career highlight is securing the Individual National Championship for Great Britain in Season 104 with a leap of 11.06m.
While she consistently places high in regional competitions - boasting multiple wins in South London for both Triple Jump and High Jump - her peak performance came in Season 103, where she recorded her best distance of 11.32m, earning a silver medal at the National Championships. Brewster’s record speaks for itself, and her presence in the National League and Champions Cup marks her as a high end competitor, who still has more to give.

Marathon Runner
Harley Doris, now retired, was a premier endurance athlete with an exceptional record in the Marathon. A prolific multi-time medallist at the Individual National Championships (INC) for the Hacksaws club, Doris has secured five silver medals and one bronze across his six seasons whilst with us.
While dominant regionally with numerous South London titles, Doris also excels on the global stage, representing Hacksaws and Great Britain at the Olympic Games and World Championships.
Harley's best performance occurred in Season 100, clocking a blistering 2h:10:55.12 in the National League
Doris also displays impressive range, as he also consistently placed in the top five nationally for the 5000 Meters.
Doris still holds the Marathon record for the Hacksaws with a time of 2h:10:55.12.
He's now running a pub in Brixton :)
20Km Race Walker
Joseph Cunningham’s trajectory in British race walking is defined by elite consistency and a relentless presence on the podium.
Between Seasons 100 and Season 105 at Hacksaws, he cemented his status as a top-tier GB competitor, amassing an impressive collection of Individual National Championship (INC) medals in his favoured event, the 20Km Walk, including a Silver in Seasons 102 & 103 and Bronzes in Seasons 100, 104, and 105.
His steely determination to succeed is best showcased by his career-best time of 1:35:59.86, a benchmark that reflects his world-class calibre.
With numerous regional and club titles to his name, Cunningham remains a formidable threat in every race.
Currently, his enduring form and tactical experience keep him firmly in the hunt for an elusive INC Gold.
Long Jump Specialist
Kyle Roberts is a premier long jumper for the Hacksaws, defined by his four-season Gold medal streak at the Individual National Championships (Seasons 99–102).
His career peak came in Season 99, hitting a best distance of 7.56m at the Olympic Games.
A dynamic and agile athlete, he also secured golds in Triple Jump and Pole Vault at regional levels.
As he transitioned into Master categories in Season 103, his consistency remained elite, earning a Continental 5th place. With 16 career golds and a legacy of domestic dominance, Roberts was a cornerstone of the Hacksaws’ success.
10,000m Runner
Chloe Laird was a long-distance specialist whilst competing for the Hacksaws, defined by her majesty in the 10,000m and Marathon.
Her career peaked in Season 100, where she secured INC Gold in the 10,000m, whilst later clocking a personal best of 34:42.31 at the Continental Championships.
A master of championship pressure, Laird also claimed INC Silver in the Marathon (Season 100) and 10,000m (Season 102).
Also, with a Marathon best of 2h:36:43 and a strong 4th place INC finish in Season 103, her 14 career Golds across all competitions cemented her status as a premier endurance force for the club.
Sprinter
Gracie Davidson was a sprinting mainstay for the Hacksaws, distinguished by her exceptional reliability in the 100m and 200m.
Her career high point occurred in Season 102, where she clocked a lightning fast 200m personal best of 23.83 to secure INC Bronze.
A podium regular at the highest level, Gracie’s INC record was outstanding, featuring a Silver in the 200m (Season 101), another Silver in the 100m (Season 98), and consistent Bronze finishes.
With a total of 14 career Golds running for the Hacksaws club, and a 100m best of 12.48, Gracie’s explosive speed made her a vital component of the club across five seasons.
Decathlete
Lev Romanyshyn brought world-class combined-events ability to Hacksaws and quickly became one of the most accomplished multi-event athletes ever associated with the club. Originally developed in Ukraine, he arrived at Hacksaws in S82 after spells with several prominent clubs and immediately strengthened the club’s combined-events programme. His place in the Hall of Fame is secured through the Decathlon Pole Vault club record of 4.11 metres, set in S82, but that achievement tells only part of the story. Romanyshyn was the holder of ten Ukrainian national records, including the decathlon record of 9,013 points, and possessed exceptional all-round ability across every discipline. His career produced 20 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze medals, including Continental Junior gold and international championship medals at U21 and masters level. Few athletes have arrived at Hacksaws with such an impressive résumé, and his influence on the club’s combined-events tradition was immediate and lasting.
200m Sprinter
Gabrielle Leighton is an elite sprinter specialising primarily in the 200m, where she has consistently competed at the highest global levels. A mainstay of the Hacksaws national and international squad, her career has been defined by explosive speed and appearances in major international finals, including 4th place at the Olympic Games, 6th place at the World Championships and silver at the World Masters Championships.
Domestically, she is a multiple-time Great Britain Individual National Champion in the 200m and has also claimed podium finishes in the 100m. She also enjoyed success in the Polish National Leagues and Cups, regularly securing victories.

Although her career is beginning to wind down, she still has opportunities remaining, including the Champion’s Cup. A true globetrotting legend of the sport, she will be greatly missed when she finally hangs up the spikes.
Triple Jump/High Jump
Gary Neilson Robertson is a multifaceted powerhouse in British athletics, renowned for his remarkable consistency on the national stage.
His career is distinguished by a prolific collection of Individual National Championship medals, highlighted by Triple Jump Silvers (Season 103) and Bronzes (Seasons 102, 105), alongside High Jump Silvers (Season 102, 103) and a Bronze (Season 104).
Gary’s explosive athleticism is evidenced by his 15.83m Triple Jump and 1.98m High Jump personal bests, his TJ PB being achieved just before he joined the Hacksaws Club.
But he has done plenty since, and now at 38 years young, he is a premier master athlete who continues to excel against all ages.
His elite status is further cemented by strong performances in Masters competitions, including top-five finishes at both the World and Continental Master Championships.
400m Runner
Anthonius Smits brought consistency, professionalism and national-level success to Hacksaws over nine productive seasons with the club. Arriving from Ste-Gemmes in S82, he quickly established himself as one of the leading quarter-milers in the squad and secured his place in club history with the male 400 metres record of 48.42 seconds in S83. Smits enjoyed remarkable domestic success, collecting 13 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze medal during his career, with much of that success achieved in highly competitive Dutch national championships. His personal best of 48.07 seconds showed that his club record reflected genuine quality, while strong performances over 200 metres demonstrated his sprinting versatility. Smits remained competitive throughout his career, regularly appearing at Continental and World Masters Championships while continuing to challenge for national honours. His longevity, consistency and record-breaking achievements make him a worthy Hacksaws Hall of Fame inductee.
100m Sprinter
Aristea Piattella brought elite international sprinting talent to Hacksaws and left behind one of the most impressive records of any athlete inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame. Although her time at the club was brief, she immediately established the female 100 metres club record of 11.46 seconds in S85 and added further prestige to the Hacksaws record book. Piattella was a World Record holder in the 18–21 age category for 200 metres and also held the Italian national record of 21.89 seconds, confirming her status as one of the premier sprinters of her generation. Her medal collection was extraordinary: 32 gold, 7 silver and 2 bronze medals, including three Olympic gold medals, multiple Continental titles and World Championship silver medals. Few athletes have combined speed, championship success and international recognition so effectively, making Piattella one of the most distinguished athletes ever to represent Hacksaws.
